A native of Jersey City, Brandi N. Warren is a woman of action whose passion is well aligned with her purpose. A proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Brandi completed her undergraduate studies in History and Secondary Education at The College of New Jersey before earning her graduate degree in Urban Education at New Jersey City University.

Prior to joining the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office in 2026, Brandi served the NJCU academic community for more than 25 years and she was an instructor for the NJ Principal and Supervisors Association for 7 years. During her tenure at NJCU, where she began as a Graduate Assistant, Brandi’s strong work ethic led her to the role of Director, where she effectively managed a caseload of more than 400 interns and mentor teachers each semester.

Brandi’s commitment to education was evident to colleagues across the state, based on her constant advocacy for quality public education and social justice in education. Brandi was nominated, and elected by her colleagues, to serve as the first African-American President of the New Jersey Field Directors Forum (2023-2025) and a member of the New Jersey Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (NJACTE) Executive Committee (2021-2026).

Brandi is always willing to lend her experience and expertise to causes greater than herself. She previously served on Advisory Boards for the Center for Future Educators, New Jersey Colleges and Partnership Schools (NJ CAPS), Assemblyman Charles Mainor and State Senator Sandra Cunningham. Currently, Brandi is an active member of the Jersey City Youth Foundation Board, the Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School Board, the Jersey City Community Charter School Board, a Women’s Advisory Group and a non-profit created to assist justice involved fathers, Helping Him.

As a Hudson County Undersheriff, Brandi is deeply immersed in community outreach, and her belief in the transformative power of education continues to fuel her work. Brandi works daily to strengthen community connections with Law Enforcement through intentional, ongoing engagement. This work is grounded in the premise that Respectful Relationships get Results. Shortly after joining the HCSO, Brandi began recruitment efforts in marginalized communities and has started an internship program.

Deeply rooted in her faith, Brandi is an active, lifelong member of Monumental Baptist Church, where she worships with her family. Through her commitment to service, Brandi has coordinated events and activities centered on community outreach, such as College Tours, Fall Festivals, and Christmas celebrations. She has also held a leadership position as Vice-Chair of the E. F. Webb Community Development Corporation. Currently,

Brandi extends her commitment to community beyond her local neighborhood through membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Her dedication and diligence in public service are rooted in her core values, which are summarized in a favorite Muhammad Ali quote: “Service to others is the rent we pay for our time here on earth”.
